Breaking Barriers and Empowering Women in Business: Insights from Successful Members Of Our Team

Breaking into the world of business as a woman can be a daunting task. With a lack of representation and gender bias in the industry, women often have to work harder to prove their worth and establish their credibility. But despite the challenges, many women on our teams have been able to succeed in business and make a significant impact in their respective fields.

We spoke with Rachel, Kristen, Kirsten, Tammy, and Taylor, all members of our teams, to gain insights into their experiences and advice for other women in business.

What's a challenge you've faced as a woman in your field, and how have you overcome it?

Rachel shared the challenge of understanding her mother's choices growing up, but as she got older, she realized the immense respect and admiration she had for her mother's work ethic. For Rachel, it was important to take that example and apply it to her own life.

Kristen spoke about dealing with gender bias and the lack of representation in the industry, but through creating supportive women's groups that encourage and support each other's dreams and ideas, she found that having that support and accountability from like-minded women can be a game-changer in one's career.

Kirsten shared the challenge of balancing work and personal life, but through setting boundaries, prioritizing time, and disconnecting from work when needed, she found that she could manage both aspects of her life effectively.

Tammy spoke about the challenge of handling criticism or negative feedback in a way that doesn't affect her confidence, but through seeking feedback from trusted sources and understanding that not all feedback is personal, she found that she could handle criticism constructively.

Taylor shared the challenge of self-doubt and imposter syndrome, but through surrounding herself with supportive people, setting goals, and reminding herself of her accomplishments, she found that she could build and maintain confidence in herself and her abilities.

Who is a woman that inspires you, and why?

Each team member had a different woman who inspired them, from Emily Lyons, our founder and CEO, to their own mothers, who had shown immense strength and work ethic in their lives.

In conclusion, women on our teams have faced various challenges in their respective fields, but they have been able to overcome them through building confidence, seeking support, and staying focused on their goals. Their advice to other women in business is to keep learning, never give up, and surround themselves with supportive people who encourage them to pursue their dreams. We celebrate the achievements of these women and all women who continue to break barriers and empower themselves and others in the business world.
